Becoming an egg donor offers many benefits and can be an incredibly rewarding experience.
Generous Compensation
Egg donors receive compensation for each donation cycle. The compensation rate starts at $8,000 and can go up to $30,000, depending on the donor's donation frequency and past donation outcomes.
Egg donors may qualify for higher compensation if they are recognized as "Elite Donors". These donors have special talents, exceptional achievements in their careers or academics, or those who have graduated from renowned institutes. Anything that enhances your profile and is highly valued by the intended parents can contribute to your eligibility for elite donor status.
Free Fertility Evaluation
A fertility evaluation is required for all prospective egg donors. This assessment typically examines your AMH levels, essential baseline hormone levels, the overall health of your uterus and ovaries, and your egg reserves. The evaluation assists the physician in determining your suitability for IVF stimulation and egg donation.
Beyond its role in the donation process, this evaluation offers you a comprehensive understanding of your fertility health. The insights derived from this assessment provide valuable knowledge and awareness, empowering you in your personal fertility journey and family planning decisions.
Free Medical Screening and Genetic Testing
Every egg donor is required to undergo a medical screening to confirm their medical fitness for participation in an IVF cycle. The screening includes bloodwork and a physical examination to assess your STD status, overall physical health, and any fertility-related issues.
In most cases, genetic carrier testing is a standard requirement for egg donors. This testing aims to identify if you carry mutated genes associated with certain recessive genetic disorders. Typically, the same testing is also performed on the sperm provider. It is important to note that being a carrier of certain mutations is relatively common. However, as long as the sperm provider does not carry the same mutated gene, the likelihood of the baby being affected is extremely low. The primary purpose of carrier screening is to mitigate the risk of passing on any potential genetic disorders to the embryo, ensuring a healthy start for the future child.
